Taipei is the capital of Taiwan and also the city most visited by tourists. The city has a large international airport, so it is likely that your trip to Taiwan will start here. Taipei is a very nice city to start. There are some good things you can see, the variety of accommodations is very good, the food is rich and there is a lot to do in the surroundings.

What to do in ไทเป
THE TOWER 101
Its 508 meters high makes it one of the tallest buildings in the world. It is the reference that you can see from virtually anywhere in Taipei and its outskirts. The night lighting changes every day. At its base there is a huge shopping center and, paying 600 NT $, you can access the observatory on the 89th floor.
ELEPHANT MOUNTAIN
A hill 183 meters high and 1.5km route to the top. The views of Tower 101 and the financial area are spectacular. The most beautiful moment to visit the place is at sunset.
WUANHUA
Although the northern area of this district is the modern Ximending, in the lower area is the most traditional Taipei. Full of old shops, old people spending the afternoon in their squares, tea houses, guilds in extinction ... Here is the historical street of Bopiliao and the temple of Longshan.
CHIANG KAI-SHEK MEMORIAL HALL AND THE CENTER AREA
An immense square with the megalomaniac monument in the background. In the corners of the esplanade we can find the theater and the National Auditorium. The memorial contains a statue of the former president and every hour there is a change of guard. On the ground floor there is a nondescript museum about the history of the country.
The beautiful Peace Memorial Park 2-28 is located one block east of it. In the area there are many government buildings and a quiet Botanical Garden.
THE NOCTURNAL MARKETS
One of the great attractions of the city is the multitude of night markets. Losing yourself in them is quite an experience. Each position is specialized in one or two dishes and some of them are so popular that they have their own system to store cola. Virtually every district has its own and you can dine every night in a different one. The most famous and big one is Shilin (red metro line, Jiantan stop). Recommended also: Raohe, Huaxi, Ningxia, Tonhua and Liaoning.
THE GONDOLA OF MAOKONG
A cable car system that connects the south entrance to the Taipei Zoo, the Zhinan Temple and the Maokong tea plantations. There are two types of cable cars: the glass floor and the standard ones, each with its own row. The price is the same for both.
TAMSUI
Nice fishing village at the mouth of the river with the same name. It has a beautiful walk and very ornate streets. Place crowded by the people of the capital who come to see the sunset. It also has its small night market and enough restaurants.
NATIONAL PARK OF YANGMINGSHAN
This National Park is 15km (one hour by bus) from Taipei. Beautiful peaks, sulphurous fumaroles, hot springs and accessible trails. Variety of walks. The routes are perfectly marked, there is no loss. You can find more information about the tours on the park's website.
JIUFEN
Small mountainous town of marked Japanese air and mining tradition, streets adorned with lanterns and tea houses.
Climate in ไทเป
In Taipei, the summers are hot, oppressive, and overcast; the winters are cool, windy, and partly cloudy; and it is wet year round. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 56°F to 92°F and is rarely below 50°F or above 96°F.
The best time of year to visit Taipei for warm-weather activities is from early October to early December.
